Israel wants to restore its relations with Turkey which have recently soured.
Israel's Industry and Trade Minister Binyamin Eliezer is still having contacts in Turkey, and he met National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul on Wednesday.
Having met at the 4th meeting of the Turkey-Israel Mixed Economic Commission in Ankara, the two ministers have evaluated the bilateral relations from economic and political aspects.
National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul said that he considers the future of the Turkey-Israel relations with an enduring perspective and added that they desire to deepen and develop the bilateral relations.
Eliezer then proceeded to the Cankaya Presidential Place and was received by President Abdullah Gul.
According to presidency sources, on his receiving of Eliezer, President Gul suggested Israel to revise their settlement policy in the region.
During the close-to-press meeting that lasted for an hour and a half, President Gul said Israel must show it sincerely wants peace.
Gul said that Israel and Palestine is experiencing currently a period of peace but this might be deceiving and there may be undesirable developments in the future.
Emphasizing the importance of a two-state solution and Israel's withdrawing to the pre-1967 borders, Gul said that by doing so, Israel will be free of security concerns.
Binyamin Eliezer has communicated again an invitation by Israeli President Shimon Peres to President Abdullah Gul to come and visit Israel.
In Turkey for talks with the officials, Israeli Industry Minister Eliezer met yesterday (November 23) Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
