DIYARBAKIR (AA) - European Parliament President Josep Borrell Fontelles has stated on Sunday that their goal is to listen to everyone's perspectives and expectations for the future.
Borrell Fontelles and his delegation visited the Diyarbakir Bar Association and Diyarbakir Association of the Families of Martyrs.
The chairman of the Association of the Families of Martyrs Ahmet Buyukburc stated that Borrell Fontelles' delegation was the first European delegation to visit their association. ''Those Europeans that came to Diyarbakir before used to take one side. Terror's target is humans. We want to live in peace in Diyarbakir. Diyarbakir has become a peaceful city. Nevertheless, we still witness terrorist activities in the region from time to time. Our citizens get hurt by land mines planted on highways. Threats to human lives, which according to the European Human Rights Agreement is the most precious value, continue. This is not a domestic issue but one that causes a problem for the international community. Let us say 'no' to terror everywhere,'' told Buyukburc.
Borrell was presented with an album on martyrs.
