Aksit To Represent Turkey In Conference On Honor Killings In Sweden

STOCKHOLM (AA) - Turkish State Minister Guldal Aksit and Mehmet Elkatmis, the Chairman of Turkish Parliamentary Human Rights Commission, will represent Turkey in an international conference on honor killings in Swedish capital of Stockholm.
     Honor killings and violence against women, and proposals for solution of the violence will be discussed during the conference to be held between December 7th and 8th.
     Around 200 people have been invited to the conference in which UN representatives will also participate.
     Jens Orback, the Minister for Integration, Urban Affairs & Gender Equality Affairs, and FM Laila Freivalds will represent the Swedish government in the conference.
     Aksit is expected to arrive in Stockholm today (Sunday), while Elkatmis is expected to be in this city tomorrow (Monday).
