EP president says his visit to Diyarbakir is of political importance

DIYARBAKIR (AA) - European Parliament (EP) President Josep Borrell Fontelles said on Sunday that his visit to southeastern city of Diyarbakir was politically important since it was made in a critical stage of Turkey-European Union (EU) relation.
     Borrell, who met Diyarbakir Mayor Osman Baydemir, said, ``today`s presence of the European Parliament here is the sign of importance the EU attaches to cultures, and cultural and linguistic characteristics of individuals.``
