EP president meets Diyarbakir Governor

DIYARBAKIR (AA) - European Parliament (EP) President Josep Borrell Fontelles met on Sunday Efkan Ala, Governor of southeastern city of Diyarbakir.
     During the meeting, Borrell Fontelles said, ``I hope I will have the opportunity to learn about this extraordinary country during my visit. This is the first time that an EP President is visiting Diyarbakir.``
     On the other hand, Jacques Nancy, spokesman of Borrell Fontelles, told A.A correspondent yesterday (Saturday) that Borrell Fontelles would visit Diyarbakir because there were some misunderstandings and lack of information about the southeast of Turkey in the European Union (EU).
     Nancy said that Borrell Fontelles wanted to tell the EP and Europeans about his impressions of his visit to Diyarbakir.
