President Gul Sends Congratulary Message To Mark Turkish Republic Of Northern Cyprus's Foundation

ANKARA - Turkish President Abdullah Gul released a message on Sunday congratulating the 26th foundation anniversary of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Presidency Press Center issued a statement and quoted Gul as saying, "Turkey, being the motherland and a country having guarantor status, will continue to back Turkish Cypriot people's struggle for freedom and welfare."

Gul's message said Turkey appreciated the energy and determination of the Turkish Cypriots to protect their freedom and equality.

"I once again congratulate your anniversary and wish a peaceful, secure and prosperous future to my Turkish Cypriot brothers," he said.
