Democratic Move Of Government Aims To Cement Unity Of Turkey, Interior Minister

ANKARA - Turkish interior minister said on Friday that "democratic move" of the government aimed to strengthen the unity of Turkey and provide the people with peace and tranquility.

Interior Minister Besir Atalay visited the Turkish Confederation of Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK) and had a meeting with Bendevi Palandoken, the chairperson of TESK.

After the meeting, Atalay told the reports that he informed Palandoken on the government's works within the scope of the "democratic move" aiming to find a solution to Kurdish issue.

"We attach great importance to assistance of the confederation. TESK chairman and members expressed their support to the initiative of the government," Atalay said.

Palandoken said, "democratic initiatives must not include any element which may spoil unitary structure of the Republic of Turkey."

TESK considered that "democratic move" of the government was a well-meaning initiative aiming to boost brotherhood in the country, Palandoken said.
