ANKARA (AA) - President Rauf Denktas of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said on Saturday, ''I am addressing the world, under which right do you insist on Turkey to recognize Cyprus government?''
After having breakfast with Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Denktas made a keynote speech at Eurasia Symposium held by Gazi University.
Recalling that the Greek Cypriot side voted ''no'' to Annan plan, Denktas said that Cyprus would have become a Greek Cypriot republic in a decade if that plan had been put into force.
Denktas said that the Greek Cypriot side was not the legitimate ''Republic of Cyprus'', and noted, ''I am addressing the world, under which right do you insist on Turkey to recognize Cyprus government?''
