ISLAMABAD - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu proceeded from Pakistan to Afghanistan on Friday.
Davutoglu was scheduled to visit Afghanistan on Thursday. But his visit was delayed due to a technical problem with his plane.
He is set to hold talks with Afghan authorities during his visit.
FM DAVUTOGLU MEETS AFGHAN GOVERNOR ZARI
MAZAR-I SHARIF - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met with the Governor of Cevizcan province Hasim Zari on Friday as part of his talks in Afghanistan.
Speaking to reporters at the governorship building in Sibirgan, Davutoglu said that "Turkey is a close friend of Afghanistan. We have never forgotten you and will never forget you".
"We are aware of the problems that Afghanistan is going through. As a strong country, Afghanistan will overcome the difficulties," Davutoglu stressed.
"What Turkey has done for Afghanistan to date is only a fraction of what it will do in the future. We will construct a mosque, school and hospital in Sibirgan city," Davutoglu said.
Davutoglu paid visits to the Afghanistan-Turkey Friendship Children's Hospital and Afghan-Turkish High School.
Earlier in the day, Davutoglu met with the Governor of Belh Ata Muhammed Nur in Mazar-i Sharif.
