ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Lebanese leaders on their achievements in the parliamentary election.

Prime Minister Erdogan had phone conversations on Monday with Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora and Future Movement Leader Saad Hariri, congratulating Siniora and Hariri on their success in the parliamentary election in Lebanon, officials said.

Erdogan and Lebanese leaders confirmed that friendly relations between Turkey and Lebanon would continue during phone conversations.

Erdogan told Siniora and Hariri that the election results would contribute to stability in Lebanon and regional peace, officials said.
