Serbia & Montenegro Parliament Joins Black Sea Economic Cooperation Parliamentary Assembly

ANTALYA/BELEK (AA) - The Parliament of Serbia and Montenegro have been unanimously accepted as a new member of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Parliamentary Assembly (BSECPA).
     Parliament Speaker Zoran Sami of Serbia and Montenegro has stated that they are pleased with their membership to the assembly.
     During the morning session of the BSECPA 24th General Council Meeting in Belek town of southern resort city of Antalya, Serbia and Montenegro`s application for full membership was discussed.
     In a voting done among member states, Serbia and Montenegro`s application received support and it was unanimously decided to let Serbia and Montenegro in as a new member of BSECPA.
     ``We are very happy to join an assembly of friends. Serbia and Montenegro lies at a crossroad between Asia and Europe. Most drug dealers and terrorist organizations use this path,`` told Zoran Sami. ``We can not let terrorists and drug dealers succeed. We are not satisfied with the status quo,`` Sami said.
     Later, the notes of the 23rd General Council Meeting of June 2nd-3rd, 2004 were approved. Also, the new members of parliament from various countries were officially authorized to participate in meetings.
