ANKARA (AA) - With days remaining until the beginning of the circulation of New Turkish lira (YTL) banknotes and coins, authorities announced on Wednesday that coins will be exchanged at the Ziraat Bank and Central Bank branches until the end of 2006.
     The coins of 50,000, 100,000, and 250,000 Turkish liras (TL) will not be used as of January 1st, 2006. However, individuals will be able to exchange these coins until the last day of 2006.
     Actual TL banknotes and coins will be denominated as YTL banknotes and coins, equalizing 1 million TL to 1 YTL (by dropping six zeros).
     Six different coins would be issued. These new metallic currencies will be ''1 New kurus, 5 New kurus, 10 New kurus, 25 New kurus, 50 New kurus and 100 New kurus, and 100 New kurus will be equal to 1 YTL which will also be issued as banknote.
     The new banknotes will include ''1 YTL, 5 YTL, 10 YTL, 20 YTL, 50 YTL and 100 YTL''.
