KIEV, Nov 25 (AFP) - A few thousand supporters of Ukrainian opposition leader Viktor Yushchenko planned to continue an overnight vigil in central Kiev but most others had gone home with plans to return Thursday morning.
An AFP reporter at Kiev's main Independence Square said that some of the estimated 200,000 people who had turned out Wednesday appeared to be settling in for a fourth, cold night.
Earlier, after Ukraine's pro-Russian Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich was officially announced the winner of Sunday's controversial presidential poll, Yushchenko urged his supporters to hold a strike and block transport links.
The opposition also plans to launch an appeal through the courts.
The questionable running of the poll has been widely denounced in the West.
