DAMASCUS - Turkish President Abdullah Gul said on Saturday that an unlimited cooperation could be launched between Turkey and Syria.
Gul and Syrian President Bashar al-Asad attended the "Turkey-Syria Business Forum" in Damascus.
Prior to the forum, Gul attended the inauguration of the Dedeman Hotel in the Syrian capital.
Speaking at the forum, Gul said that there had been a remarkable progress in Turkish-Syrian relations over the last 6-7 years.
"Turkey and Syria can establish an unlimited cooperation. Both countries have the political will to do that," Gul said.
Syrian President al-Asad said in his part that economic relations between the two countries should be improved.
Al-Asad said that Turkey and Syria were two strategic partners and they were able to establish strong relations with both Europe and Asia thanks to their significant geographical positions.
Al-Asad also called on Turkish businessmen to make investments not only in Damascus, but also in other Syrian cities.
During the forum, Turkish State Minister Zafer Caglayan briefed the participants on Turkey's foreign trade profile as well.
