A New Border Gate With Bulgaria

EDIRNE (AA) - Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan has announced that the new border gate with Bulgaria, at Hamzabeyli village, will be opened within the next months. ''Turkey is ready to open the new border crossing. However, Bulgarian officials asked for some more time to prepare themselves for the opening,'' said Unakitan.
     According to previous agreement between the Turkish and Bulgarian authorities, the Hamzabeyli border gate was to be opened with an official ceremony attended by the two countries' prime ministers on November 21st, 2004.
     The Hamzabeyli border gate is now scheduled to be officially open as of the first week of May, 2005.
