BAKU - Turkish premier said Wednesday the price Turkey pays for Azeri natural gas would be reviewed with an eye to make it "fairer."
"I cannot argue that the price is fair. We have discussed that issue with President Aliyev. My energy minister and Mr. Rovnag Abdullayev of Socar (Azerbaijan's state-run oil company) will meet today and I hope we will come up with a fairer price," Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters after a meeting with Azeri President Ilham Aliyev in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Erdogan was responding to a question by a reporter who said Azerbaijan is currently exporting gas to Turkey and Georgia for 120 USD/tcm, while the average gas price in the Turkish system is 335 USD/tcm.
