Yukos slapped with new tax claims

MOSCOW (AFP) - Russian tax authorities have slapped the embattled Yukos oil giant with nearly six billion dollars in new tax claims, a company spokesman told AFP.
Hugo Erikssen told AFP the tax ministry contends the firm owes 5.92 billion dollars in back-taxes for 2003.
The figure brings to 24 billion dollars the total tax claims against Russia's largest oil producer, or nearly five times its current market capitalization.
