ISTANBUL - Turkey's airport constructing firm recorded profit in 2008, a company statement said on Monday.
The TAV (Tepe-Akfen-Vie) Insaat (construction) had net 42 million USD of profit in 2008, the statement said.
The company announced its turnover in 2008 as 680 million USD, and its net profit as 42 million USD.
The turnover of the company was up 107 percent in 2008, over 2007. Also, TAV Insaat raised its employees by 29 percent.
TAV Insaat has renovated the international flights terminal of Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, Ankara's Esenboga Airport, and the domestic flights terminals of Istanbul's Ataturk Airport and Izmir's Adnan Menderes Airport.
Also, the company has constructed the new international flights terminal of Izmir's Adnan Menderes Airport.
The Turkish company has undertaken projects abroad, and built the Emirates A380 hangars in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates; the international airports in Tbilisi and Batumi, Georgia; and the terminal building of the Cairo Airport in Egypt.
Actually the TAV Insaat is constructing the passenger terminal of the New Doha Airport in Qatar; Tripoli international airport in Libya; and Zine El Abidine Ben Ali Airport in Tunisia.
