ANKARA - ''Turkish Cypriots are equal partners of a lasting peace and consensus. Will of Turkish Cypriots for integration with the world should not be left unanswered any more,'' said Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan sent a message to President Rauf Denktas of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for the 21st anniversary of foundation of the TRNC on Monday.
Erdogan said, ''I would like to confirm one more time the support of Turkey to the TRNC and Turkish Cypriots on every area. Under your leadership, Turkish Cypriots have reached present time in spite of all difficulties. Turkish Cypriots' preserving their unity is important for future as well.''
''The TRNC has a structure of developing state which is respectful to human rights, has democracy that protects modern values and has a political and legal system,'' added Erdogan.
''Turkish Cypriot side made necessary efforts for a new partnership on basis of equality with good will and patience,'' he said.
Erdogan said, ''lifting of unjust embargo and restrictions imposed on Turkish Cypriots will contribute to efforts for peace and consensus.''
''Turkey will continue to support the TRNC. Our cooperation and solidarity will continue,'' added Erdogan.
