TIMISOARA - A passenger plane belonged to Turkish MNG Airlines made an emergency landing in Timisoara city of Romania after a smoke alarm went off, sources said on Monday.
The plane was flying from Hamburg, Germany, to southern Turkish city of Antalya with 152 people aboard, mostly German tourists, when the alarm went off over Hungary at 23:48 hours Turkish local time on Sunday.
Firefighters and an ambulance rushed to the airport, and 152 passengers were taken off the plane as a precaution.
No one was injured, but several people were treated for panic attacks.
Authorities checked the plane and nothing amiss was found.
The plane left for Turkey at about 3 a.m. Turkish local time on Monday.
