LEFKOSA - ''Turkish Cypriots will take reward of its efforts, struggle, sacrifice, pains and missing years when it integrates with the world,'' said Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Talat released a message to mark the 21st anniversary of foundation of the TRNC on Sunday.
He said, ''we are celebrating the 21st anniversary of foundation of the TRNC in these days during which we have been struggling for integration with the world and resolution of Cyprus issue.''
''Today, we know that none of the societies, states and individuals can survive its existence by isolating itself from international community. We learned this thanks to our experiences. We not only learned this but also showed our determination for integration with the world to all states, and we pave the path to Europe as a whole by assessing our conditions in a realistic way,'' he noted.
Talat said, ''Turkish Cypriots, who have been experiencing a historical process, know that Cyprus issue is the principle source of all problems.''
''Our determination for the solution of Cyprus problem removed our intransigent impression for states of the whole world. Meanwhile, Cyprus problem is not the biggest obstacle before Turkey's path to the EU anymore,'' Talat said.
Talat noted, ''we know we should never lose our will for solution, but we cannot accept being a minority on our own lands and being considered as an unrecognized existence.''
