ISTANBUL - A new Gulfstream 550 jet, which will carry Turkey's prime minister, landed at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport on Friday.
Turkey ordered the specially configured and highly customized business jet two years ago. The aircraft, registered as "TC-DAP", was manufactured and its flight tests were completed in Savannah, United States.
The new aircraft will be prepared for official flights in Istanbul. It will be sent to the Turkish capital Ankara following certification process.
The ultra-long range business jet can fly 12,500 kilometers and link Istanbul to Los Angeles in the west and Australia in the east without refueling. The new jet has the capacity to carry up to 18 passengers.
