TRABZON - A plane carrying United Nations troops had to make an emergency landing Thursday in Turkey due to a technical malfunction, authorities said.
The plane, which took off from Norway en route to Afghanistan, was forced to return to a civilian airport in the Black Sea port city of Trabzon shortly after it refueled there.
Authorities said the UN troops and the plane crew had been accommodated at a nearby hotel and they would depart for Kabul once the problem in the plane was fixed.
