LONDON/ANKARA - Turkey and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) decided on Thursday to restart direct talks.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is currently in the British capital of London for the G-20 Summit, met with IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn.
During the closed-door meeting, both parties agreed in principle to resume direct talks, officials said.
Turkish State Minister and Deputy Premier Nazim Ekren, State Minister Mehmet Simsek and IMF First Deputy Managing Director John Lipsky attended the meeting as well.
