U.S. National Security Advisor Says They Expect To Renew Strategic Partnership With Turkey

LONDON - U.S. National Security Advisor James Jones said that the United States expected to renew its strategic partnership with Turkey.
Before attending the NATO Summit to be held in Strasbourg, France, and Kehl, Germany on April 3 and 4 together with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Jones said at a tele-conference that Turkey would gain further importance in the coming term not only for its allies, but also for Afghanistan and Pakistan.

He recalled that Turkey undertook command of the international force in Afghanistan for two times and played an important rome in economic revival of Afghanistan.

Jones described the partnership between Turkey and the United States as a strategic one, and said that they expected to renew that partnership.

He said that they would work together with Turkey in its search for peace and stability in the region surrounding it.

U.S. Secretary of Clinton, on her part, said that Turkey was an extraordinarily important member of NATO.
