U.S. President Proceeds From Ankara To Istanbul

ANKARA - The U.S. president proceeded from the Turkish capital to the Turkish commercial hub on Monday.
U.S. President Barack Obama completed his talks in the Turkish capital of Ankara, and flew to the Turkish commercial hub of Istanbul.

Obama visited Anitkabir, the Mausoleum of Ataturk--the Founder of Republic of Turkey, and then met President Abdullah Gul.

The two presidents later held a joint press conference.

Obama proceeded to the Turkish parliament and met opposition leaders, and addressed Turkish lawmakers.

The U.S. president met Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Prime Ministry building.

Obama is expected to participate in a dinner within the framework of the Second Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations in Istanbul this evening.

The U.S. president is to visit historical and cultural attractions in Istanbul on Tuesday, and depart from this city in the evening.
