ANKARA - Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) chairman Deniz Baykal said on Monday that his meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama was very good.
Baykal said that they discussed modernization and democracy process as well as independence of judiciary and freedom of press in Turkey.
Baykal said that he conveyed to Obama the importance of Turkey's full membership to the EU for the continuation of democratization and modernization.
Baykal added that Obama told him opposition was important and there was no democracy without opposition.
