Turkey's U.N. Representative Expresses Turkey's Concerns Over North Korea Rocket Launch

UNITED NATIONS - In an extraordinary meeting of the UN Security Council on North Korea's rocket launch, Turkey has expressed its concerns.
Speaking in a meeting that was closed to the press on Sunday, Turkey's Permanent Representative at the UN, Baki Ilkin, said that one of the pillars of Turkish foreign policy was to prevent the proliferation of weapons.

Ilkin expressed Turkey's serious concerns over North Korea rocket launch.

Ambassador Ilkin said that the rocket launch by North Korea was not in harmony with UN resolutions 1695 and 1718 that were accepted in 2006.

Ilkin stressed Turkey's support to the continuation of the sestet talks on North Korea's nuclear program.
