C.H.P. Leader To Go To Cairo For Arafat's Funeral Together With Turkish P.M.

ANKARA - Deniz Baykal, the leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), will go to Egyptian capital of Cairo to attend the funeral of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, who passed away early on Thursday, together with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, his office said.
Baykal's office stated that Erdogan called Baykal, and suggested him to go to Arafat's funeral together.
The office said that Baykal accepted Erdogan's suggestion, and decided to accompany him. Baykal was scheduled to fly to Cairo Thursday evening.
CHP Deputy Chairman Onur Oymen and Petek Gurbuz, one of his foreign affairs advisers, will accompany Baykal and Erdogan.
Baykal and the accompanying delegation will proceed to Dubai after the funeral, and then go to South Africa to attend the meeting of Socialist International between November 15th and 16th.
