JERUSALEM, Nov 12 (AFP) - A car exploded Friday on a road near the West Bank town of Ramallah, where tens of thousands were gathered for the burial of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, Israeli army sources said.
The military spokeswoman said the explosion, which took place near Bir Zeit University, caused casualties but she had no immediate numbers.
She said the cause of the blast was not immediately clear, explaining that it could have been the premature explosion of a car bomb, or an accident caused by a faulty gas cylinder.
