Arafat laid to rest in Ramallah HQ

RAMALLAH, West Bank, Nov 12 (AFP) - Veteran Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat was on Friday laid to rest at his battered Muqataa headquarters in the West Bank town of Ramallah, an AFP correspondent reported.
Shortly after Arafat was buried, the crowd began a prayer joined by Palestinian leaders including newly appointed Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) chairman Mahmud Abbas and prime minister Ahmed Qorei.
