LONDON, Nov 11 (AFP) - German-born supermodel Claudia Schiffer on Thursday gave birth to a girl in a private London hospital, her second child by director-producer husband Matthew Vaughn.
Vaughn said in a statement he was "thrilled" about the birth of his daughter.
"We are absolutely thrilled at our newest addition to our family. I would like to thank my beautiful wife Claudia for giving me an equally beautiful daughter, a little sister for Caspar," he said.
Schiffer, the 34-year-old who was one of the most recognized faces of fashion in the 1990s, and Vaughn, 33, married in 2002.
Vaughn produced two films by Guy Ritchie, Madonna's husband -- "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch" -- and made his debut this year as a director with "Layer Cake".
The couple, along with 22-month-old Caspar, live in London.
"Both mother and daughter are doing well," a spokeswoman said.
