ISTANBUL - The Iraqi president received the chairman of an opposition Turkish party on Tuesday.
Iraq's President Jalal Talabani had a meeting with Ahmet Turk, the chairman of the Democratic Society Party (DTP), in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

Talabani is actually in Istanbul for the Fifth World Water Forum.

"Development of democracy in the Middle East means improvement of dialogue among nations," Turk told reporters after the meeting.

Turk said that he expressed his views that some developments could occur in the Middle East and Turkey with fairly civilian democratic projects, and told reporters that Talabani was also hopeful.

The DTP chairman said he had invited Talabani for Nevruz celebration in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir on Saturday. (BRC-AÖ)
