ISTANBUL - Turkish Motorcyclist Kenan Sofuoglu won the Australia leg of the 2009 Supersport World Championship.
2007 World Supersport Champion Sofuoglu, who took the pole slot for the race, --his seventh career pole-- also broke a new circuit record of 1 minute 34.320 seconds.
Sofuoglu, who races for HANNspree Ten Kate Honda, won the race with 33`42.156 seconds. His team mate Andrew Pitt finished the race in the second spot with 33`42.216 seconds and Stiggy Racing Honda pilot Anthony West finished third with 33`42.309 seconds.
In Championship points, Sofuoglu ranks first with 25 points followed by Pitt and West in the second and third ranks.
