Istanbul Shoulders Turkey's Foreign Trade

ANKARA - Istanbul made 55.4 percent of Turkey`s export in 2008.
According to figures of Foreign Trade Undersecretariat, Istanbul exported products worth of 73.2 billion USD in 2008 which was 55.4 percent of Turkey`s export amount.
Istanbul also imported products worth of 111.2 billion USD last year which was 55.1 percent of country`s import figure.
Istanbul (73.2 billion USD), northwestern province of Bursa (11.1 billion USD), and northwestern province of Kocaeli (8.3 billion USD) were the cities which made the most export in 2008.
The cities which made the highest import in 2008 were Istanbul (111.2 billion USD), Kocaeli (25.4 billion USD), and Ankara (23.1 billion USD).
