DAMASCUS - Turkey opened a representation in Syria`s Tartus city on Saturday.
The Honorary Consulate in Tartus port city, which is the fourth representation of Turkey in Syria, was inaugurated with a ceremony participated by Syrian deputy Foreign Minister Abdel Fatah Ammura, Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ugur Dogan, Turkish Ambassador in Damascus Yasar Halit Cevik and Tartus Honorary Consul Abdulkadir Sebra.
Turkish Ambassador Cevik told A.A that Sebra made great contributions to development of Turkey-Syria commerce as well as he exerted efforts in starting and developing the relations between Syria and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Sebra also said that Turkey was a leader country in science and politics, adding that Turkey could have significant influences on Arabian countries.
Sebra said that economic cooperation between Turkey and Syria should be extended to sailing and maritime areas too.
