ANKARA - Gen. Metin Gurak, Spokesman for Turkey`s General Staff, said Friday that they received intelligence suggesting escalating inner strife among opposing groups inside terrorist organisation PKK, resulting from fight for power.
Gurak told reporters during the weekly press conference in Ankara, that two separate groups consisting of 20 to 25 PKK terrorists each, engaged in combat on February 13th at Sinat-Haftanin region. He said about 20 terrorists were killed and 20 others were wounded during skirmishes.
Gurak said they also received intelligence suggesting that some of these terrorists escaped from the organisation, adding that they were trying to confirm the information.
