Greek Consul Says Illegal Migration Is One Of Biggest Problems

EDIRNE - Greek Consul Paraskevi Tzeveleki in northwestern Turkish province of Edirne said that a number of migrants tried to enter Greece through illegal ways each year, adding that illegal migration was one of the biggest problems in the 21st century.
In an interview with the A.A, Tzeveleki said that a great number of people had to leave their own countries because of wars, natural disasters and several other reasons.
"They seek ways to start a better life in European countries. Illegal migration is one of the biggest problems in our century. Illegal migration also gives rise to many other problems. Turkey and Greece have been cooperating in fight against organized criminal gangs and illegal migration," he said.
Tzeveleki added that Turkey, Greece and Spain were among the worst affected countries from the illegal migration.
