Amsterdam crash kills five Turkish, four U.S. Citizens

AMSTERDAM - A Turkish aircraft that crashed in the Netherlands killed five Turkish and four U.S. citizens, the head of the crisis desk said on Thursday.
Five Turkish and four U.S. nationals died in the Turkish Airlines (THY) aircraft that crashed in the Netherlands on Wednesday, Theo Weterings, the head of the crisis desk and Haarlemmermeer mayor, told a press conference.
A THY aircraft en route from the Turkish city of Istanbul to the Dutch capital of Amsterdam crashed when it was landing at the Schiphol Airport on Wednesday.
Weterings said that there were 135 people aboard the plane, and that the crisis desk informed the families of those who lost their lives in the crash.
The mayor said that the crisis desk would not make public the names of people who died in the crash.
There were 60 Dutch, 51 Turkish, one German, seven U.S., three British, one Bulgarian, one Finnish, one Italian, one Taiwanese, four Iranian, one Sudanese and two Syrian citizens on the plane. The nationalities of two passengers have not yet been determined.
