AMSTERDAM - A senior official from the Dutch safety authority said Thursday that the initial information regarding the reasons that caused yesterday's plane crash at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport would be obtained in the middle of next week.
The Turkish Airlines plane with flight number 1951 crashed while attempting to land at the Schiphol Airport on Wednesday, killing 9 people and wounding many others.
Speaking to reporters after examining the location of the accident, Pieter van Vollenhoven, chairperson of the Dutch Transport Safety Board, said that all the research regarding the crash was being carried out by his board and the prosecutor's office in the Dutch city of Haarlem.
Vollenhoven said that Turkish, American, French and Italian experts also supported the ongoing studies, and thanks to such cooperation, he expected the cause of the accident to be brought to light as soon as possible.
