ISTANBUL - Turkey's parliament speaker departed from Istanbul for France on Thursday in order to attend a meeting of European Union parliament chiefs to be held in the French capital of Paris.
Within the framework of his visit, Turkish Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan will first hold talks with President of the French Senate Gerard Larcher.
He will also attend the meeting of European Union parliament chiefs which will be inaugurated by Larcher and President of the French National Assembly Bernard Accoyer on Friday.
EU's institutional future and implementation of Lisbon Treaty's clauses by national parliaments would be on the agenda of the meeting.
After the meeting, French President Nicolas Sarkozy will host a reception at the Elysee Palace in honor of the guest parliament chiefs.
