ISTANBUL - U.S. aerospace company Boeing said it had sent a technical team to assist Dutch investigators looking into the crash of a Turkish airliner on Wednesday in Amsterdam's main airport.
The Turkish Airlines Boeing 737-800 with 134 onboard slammed on a muddy field while attempting to land at Schiphol Airport, killing 9 and injuring 84 others.
Boeing said the team was deployed on the request of the Dutch officials to extend technical support.
In related news, the Turkish Airlines said in a statement it sent to Turkey's main shares index that the crashed plane had been insured for 41.7 million USD.
Dutch officials were expected to make public the identities of the victims of the crash.
