NEW YORK, Nov 9 (AFP) - Milwaukee Bucks forward Marcus Fizer was suspended one game without pay by the National Basketball Association here on Tuesday after pleading guilty in Illinois to unlawful possession of a weapon.
The Bucks signed Fizer last Thursday to replace waived forward Marcus Haislip.
Fizer is coming off of surgery last May to repair a torn knee ligament and not yet on the Bucks' 12-man playing roster. His return will be delayed for one game by the suspension once he is healthy enough to play again.
A first-round pick by Chicago in the 2000 NBA Draft, Fizer averaged 10.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists in four seasons with the Bulls, mostly coming off the bench.
Fizer struggled last season, averaging career lows of 7.8 points and 4.4 rebounds in 16 minutes per game. Charlotte selected Fizer in this year's expansion draft but decided not to sign him, making him a free agent.
