BURSA - The number of Turkish workers sent abroad by Turkey's Employment Agency (ISKUR) went down by 23.4 percent in 2008 when compared to the previous year and was recorded as 57,652.
The number of Turkish workers sent abroad in January went down by 66.8 percent when compared to the same month last year and was recorded as 2,775.
In 2008, the majority of Turkish workers went to Russia, Saudi Arabia and Libya.
Since 1961, the number of Turkish workers going abroad for work is more than 2,200,000.
