ANKARA - The High Tribunal completed on Monday the first day debates in the corruption case filed against Cumhur Ersumer and Zeki Cakan, two former Energy & Natural Resources ministers.
Mustafa Bumin, who chaired the hearing, said that demands of the defendants and the plaintiff would be debated in the upcoming hearing, and noted that the trial would continue till November 25th.
Ersumer and Cakan are accused of alleged irregularities and abusing powers by implementing wrong and illegal energy policies that caused the state to lose money.
If convicted, Ersumer and Cakan will be sentenced to imprisonment.
