CANAKKALE - Australian Ambassador to Turkey Jean Dunn visited Governor Suleyman Kamci of northwestern city of Canakkale on Monday.
Newly appointed Ambassador Dunn told the A.A correspondent that Canakkale is very important to Australians.
''Canakkale is on an important location in Turkey and it has at the same time ties with Anzacs,'' added Dunn.
Recalling, ''every year thousands of Anzac tourists visit Canakkale,'' Dunn said, ''whole Australia has adopted Canakkale and has been following developments in this city closely. Canakkale is very important to Australians. Because, many Australian soldiers died at Anzac Bay during Canakkale Battles.''
