ARINC: ''THERE ARE CHANGES IN TURKEY IN EVERY AREA''
ANKARA - ''There are changes in Turkey not only in politics, but also in every area,'' Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc said on Monday.
Arinc who held a press conference before the beginning of legislative year said, ''the Parliament, which is the heart of Turkey and symbol of democracy should adjust itself to the conditions of new Turkey. We are doing our best to make Parliament an institution that is the main center of changes and reforms.''
Stating that the Parliament showed a very big performance in the past two years regarding EU membership, Arinc said, ''nobody should have any doubt that the same performance will be shown in the new period.''
Arinc said, ''we will make new arrangements and studies for the parliament that would suit to Turkey which showed an incredible development and change in the past two years.''
Arinc stated that the Parliament prepared four medium and long term main projects for this year, and listed these new projects as re-structuring in the Parliament, re-organization, a new library and archives buildings, research center and experts teams.
''We will be in an effort to remove bureaucratic confusion. The parliament will be more dynamic with privatization and removal of all unnecessary units,'' Arinc noted.
Arinc said, ''new mentalities and new systems are needed in Turkey from now on. The parliament has started a renewal process to do its best in this respect.''
