MANCHESTER, England (AFP) - The fall-out over the Old Trafford tunnel brawl between Manchester United and Arsenal continued with news that United were preparing to ask the Football Association to take action.
The fracas Sunday in which pizza and soup were reportedly thrown at United manager Alex Ferguson by an Arsenal player followed United's 2-0 win which brought to an end Arsenal's 49-match unbeaten run.
The FA have confirmed their intention to investigate the incident, although Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has twice this week insisted nothing happened.
United officials are furious at the insinuation and having admitting Ruud van Nistelrooy's guilt over his horror tackle on Ashley Cole are now preparing a file to hand to the FA.
"We are very disappointed at the reaction from Arsenal but we are doing our own thing," Ferguson confirmed.
"We have launched our own investigation into it. We are collating a lot of information and there are a lot of statements being made by witnesses.
"We will be forwarding all the information to the FA and then we will let them get on with it."
