Tuzmen Meets P.M. Of Western Cape Province In Republic Of South Africa

CAPE TOWN - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen, who is holding meetings in the Republic of South Africa, met Ebrahim Rasool, Premier of Western Cape State.
Tuzmen told reporters after the meeting that the most important issue for them is to sign a free trade agreement with South Africa rapidly, adding that Rasool has made commitments about the issue.
Tuzmen said, ''Turkey and South Africa complete each other in the aspect of agricultural products due to similar climate conditions. We can establish a joint company with South Africa or pursue a joint activity and sell same products to foreign markets throughout 12 months.''
''Also there is no direct flight between Turkey and South Africa and this is an obstacle before economic and commercial relations. I have talked with Director General of Turkish Airlines (THY) regarding the issue. After new planes are bought, direct flights will start to South Africa,'' added Tuzmen.
Meanwhile, Turkish businessmen pursue their meetings with South African businessmen.
