ANKARA - Turkish State Minister Guldal Aksit said Thursday that adoption of bill on the establishment of ''Directorate General for Women's Status and Problems'' by the Turkish Parliament is a step towards the development and protection of women's rights.
''Deputies who voted for the establishment of the new body will contribute to gender equality in Turkey,'' said Aksit.
According to Aksit, ''the new law will speed up women's projects.'' ''With the organization of experts, efforts to improve the status of women will gain momentum,'' remarked Aksit.
